Bruin Golf Outing 2009

The Kellogg Community College Foundation raised more than $62,000 — a record amount — in the annual Bruin Scholarship Golf Outing Friday, Sept. 11, at Binder Park Golf Course. The event drew 232 golfers, making it the largest golf outing in Battle Creek this season. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for students at Kellogg Community College.

A recent budget deal agreed to in Lansing could mean 300 college students at KCC can no longer afford to go school. With the state of Michigan expecting a $2.7 billion dollar budget shortfall, some lawmakers are talking about raising taxes to increase revenue, while others are talking about tough budget cuts.
