The Applied Science in Public Safety degree combines our Law Enforcement degree program with the State of Michigan Firefighter I and II certificate. To qualify for this degree you must successfully complete all of the requirements of the Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement and provide proof of state certification in Firefighter I and II to the Office of the Registrar.
The Fire Science certification can be obtained through any Michigan Firefighter Training Council approved course. Students may contact Kalamazoo Valley Community College if they are in need of Firefighter I and II certification at 269-448-4202 or visit the KVCC website at www.kvcc.edu. Students must obtain approval from the Criminal Justice Director in order to verify the Firefighter I and II certifications. Students will be required to show proof of completion and certification.
