ECE Career Opportunities

Employment of childcare workers is expected to grow by 20 percent from 2012 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations. Employment of preschool teachers and directors is expected to grow by 35 percent from 2012 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations. Growth is expected due to a continued focus on the importance of early childhood education, the growing population of children ages 3 to 5 and the continued demand for child card for children birth to 5 (U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Handbook).
