Mission
Increase the essential skills necessary for adult learners to fully participate and succeed in accessing post-secondary education, training programs and/or employment.

Primary Goal
The Access-2-Success program is committed to providing a cohort based learning experience in a safe and supportive environment. Students are prepared in the development of skills to become a self-sufficient and successful adult learner and/or wage earner.

Program Description
The purpose of the program is to develop partnerships with employers, educators, and others to assist adults who have interest in increasing their educational level, employability, and marketable skills in Calhoun, Branch and Barry Counties. The components of the cohort can be tailored to meet the unique needs of community partners. Program components may include, but are not limited to the following
  • Support to adult learners who are unemployed or under-employed
  • Increasing skill level in reading, writing, study skills, computers, and math
  • Assessments in strengths, interests, personality and other tools to aid in career decision making and training
  • College credit and/or certificates in career development, computer skills, customer service, life skills and transitional studies
  • Training opportunities in culinary arts, welding, home health care, or hospitality

Participation in the program is referral based through community partners.
