Federal Pell Grant
This grant provides a maximum award depending on the computed Expected Family Contribution from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. These awards are pro-rated, depending on the actual enrollment level of the student per semester. Students may verify their eligible amount by utilizing the pell calculator on the KCC website. This grant is available to students who have not yet earned a bachelor degree. This is an entitlement program from which all students who meet eligibility requirements will receive an award.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This program provides awards of $200 – $4,000 per academic year. Priority for these awards is given to Pell Grant recipients with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC) determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The award amount is dependent on annual availability of funds and other resources that make up an individual award package.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
This program is a federally-funded work program for on-campus or community service jobs used to promote part-time employment paying at the State minimum wage per hour rates. Employment opportunities are offered to students enrolled in at least half-time (min. six credit hours) who demonstrate financial need. Positions are limited and the number of hours a week a student can work depends on the student’s eligibility. Students may earn up to their maximum annual award amount as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All job placement is handled through Career & Employment Services.
