These are the 6 Steps to Success at KCC:

Step 1

Apply to KCC (General or selective)

Step 2

Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
On the Financial Aid page you will find FAFSA forms and help; private, local, and national scholarship information, and transfer financial aid information.

Tip: be sure to log-in to your KCC student email account for up-to-date information about the status of your financial aid! All correspondence from the Financial Aid Office will be through your KCC e-mail.

Step 3

Complete the New Student Orientation

Step 4

Take the Assessment Test (COMPASS). ACT English and Reading scores may be used for placement instead of the Compass writing skills and reading components.
The Testing & Assessment Center is located in the Ohm Information Technology Center.
Hours of Operation:
Mondays: 10:00 am — 6:30 pm
Tuesdays: 10:00 am — 4:00 pm
Wednesdays: 10:00 am — 4:00 pm

Step 5

– Talk to an advisor face-to-face or online. Advisors can help at any location with:
  • Course selection.
  • Career exploration.
  • Selective admissions programs like Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Medical Lab Technician, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Radiography.
  • Transfer Guides & Educational Plans.
– Advisors are here to help guide you... not to make decisions for you.
– Academic Probation Mentor

Register and Pay for Classes


In order to be eligible for financial aid assistance, the student should fill out the FAFSA for that school year.
