The above outline is intended to act as a reference guide based on four semesters. However, some students may complete such a program in more or less than four semesters.
(1) The courses in this "Elective" category can be identified when you know your major and the institution in which you intend to enroll. Consult with an Academic Advisor, who can assist in clarifying your career goals. Appropriate transfer guides to meet such goals are available on this website, in the Academic Advising department, and in the College's catalog. Although these transfer guides provide the recommended courses for your major, students are responsible to be knowledgeable about the specific admission requirements at the transfer institution.
You should also understand these transfer guides are not necessarily KCC's Associate Degree guides. Students intending to earn an Associate in Arts or Science should check this web site under "Degree Group Requirements" (below), the College Catalog, or consult with your advisor.
Associate in Arts: Successful completion of the requirements outlined below in Groups I, II, III, IV, and V, plus one course selected from Math 122 through 242, Physics 111 through 202, or Chemistry 100 through 111 if not completed in group requirements.
Associate in Science: Successful completion of the requirements outlined in Groups I, II, III, V, plus 24 semester hours of credit in science and mathematics course work from Group IV.
Students who have fulfilled the requirements of the MACRAO Articulation Agreement and are transferring to participating Michigan universities will have earned 30 hours of general education credit. Participating universities will require a transcript appropriately identified and certified as having fulfilled the requirements of the MACRAO Agreement from Kellogg Community College. The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees contain this core: Group I, six credits; Group II, two credits; Group III, eight credits; Group IV, eight credits; and Group V, eight credits. A current listing of participating universities and a list of the senior colleges with provisos/limitations are available in the Academic Advising Department.
