CMU and Teacher Education Admissions expect its graduates to demonstrate competency in three areas: English Composition, Math, and Speech. A grade of "C" or better in the following KCC courses will fulfill these competency requirements: ENGL 152; COMM 101, 207, or 210; MATH 121 or higher (except MATH 153) or BUAD 112. A grade of B- or better in ENGL 151 or ENGL 152 is also required for Admissions to Teacher Education. |

Students are required to present evidence of at least 45 clock hours of experience working with children or youth prior to their admission to the Teacher Education Program. Please note these hours must be done in a classroom setting. A minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA must be established to be considered for admission to CMU’s Teacher Education Program. This is a limited enrollment program.
