There are approximately 94 credits of pre-professional studies prior to admission to the professional program. A student can achieve around 62 credits at KCC.

(1) Completion of course requirements in Groups I, III, IV and V satisfies the MACRAO Agreement between KCC and Grand Valley State University.

NOTE: Students beginning classes for the first time at KCC in the Fall semester of 2004 will need to complete COMM 101 or 111 to satisfy KCC graduation requirements for all Associate degrees.  Please consider this requirement when selecting your elective options for your transfer program.

 

Professional Program Admission Criteria

  1. Academic achievement.  Students must have a minimum average GPA of 3.0 in pre-professional program course requirements and in their last 60 hours of course work out of 94 hours.
  2. Communication and interpersonal skills.  On-site interviewing and essay writing required. 
  3. Recommendations.  Two recommendations must be submitted.  One must be from a licensed physical therapist. 
  4. Observational experience.  A minimum of 50 hours of observational experience in physical therapy is required. 
  5. Additional activities.  Additional educational, professional, leadership, scholarly and volunteer activities are valued and must be documented. 
  6. Technical standards.  Individuals must be able to perform all technical standards of the physical therapy program.
