We are very proud of the fact that we were one of the first programs in the country and the first in Michigan. Each year we welcome students from around the state and consistently from other areas of the country to take part in our two-year (five semester) program that culminates in an Associate of Applied Science degree.
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Kellogg Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314; telephone: 703-706-3245; email: accreditation@apta.org; website: www.capteonline.org. Accreditation is a process used to assure the quality of the education that students receive. Program accreditation also allows program graduates to be eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination. Most states, including the State of Michigan, require successful passage of this examination to earn licensure and be able to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant. For more information on licensure, regulations and the field of physical therapy in the State of Michigan, please visit the Michigan Physical Therapy Association at www.mpta.com.
Please take time to look through our web site for information on admissions, to view photographs of the activities that students take part in throughout the curriculum, and generally to become familiar with our program. For questions, please contact our Program Coordinator, Julie Roberts, PT, MS at 269.965.3931 ext. 2270 or you can reach her by email at robertsj@kellogg.edu.
