Radiography Program
Another new opportunity in Medical Imaging being offered at Kellogg Community College is Magnetic Resonance Imaging. We are currently seeking applicants for this exciting, new program. For more information visit the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) site.
Radiographers assist the physician, particularly the radiologist, in using ionizing radiation (x-rays) in
diagnosis of diseases and malfunctions of the human body. The radiographer operates radiologic (x-ray) equipment under the general direction
of a physician to accurately demonstrate anatomical structures on the radiograph by applying knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and
radiographic technique. Radiographers are also trained to perform these duties at the patient's bedside or in the operating room.
The Radiography program is a two-year program consisting of four (4) academic semesters and two (2) summer sessions. All semesters consist of classroom lecture and supervised clinical experience. The program's extensive clinical experiences require the time commitment of a full-time student.
The Radiography program is approved by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Radiologic Technology.
Successful completion of the program leads to an Associate in Applied Science and eligibility to take the national certification examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
