Eric Laskovy
Head Coach
Eric is in his seventh year at Kellogg Community College, and his first at the helm. He played and coached at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock after transferring from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Eric's duties include working with the hitters' and outfielders, as well as coordinating the recruiting. He is also an associate scout for the Cincinnati Reds.

Eric attended Paw Paw High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Health Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Master's Degree in Physical Education from Western Michigan University
Coach Bortell

The 2006 season will be the 18th year involved in the baseball program at Kellogg Community College for Russ Bortell. Bortell has built the program at Kellogg striving for growth and development on and off the field during the players' experience in the program. The program has seen a majority of the players continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year programs. This also includes a number of players who have gone on to play professional baseball. Under Bortell, the Bruins have captured two Region XII Championships, made two college World Series appearances (1999,2002) including a National Runner Up finish in 1999. Kellogg also broke a school record for wins in 2005 with 46.

He has also served two stints in USA baseball, and coached in the National Amateur All-Star Baseball Tournament.

Russ played intercollegiate baseball at Glen Oaks Community College, University of Texas- El Paso, and Spring Arbor University. He graduated from Spring Arbor University in 1980. Russ and his wife Micki have a teen-age son Cameron.
Coach Miller
Jim Miller
Assistant Coach
Jim Miller grew up in Scotts, Michigan. He attended Climax-Scotts High School where he lettered in four varsity sports, winning several all conference honors. Coach Miller spent over 20 years on active military duty before retiring in 1992. During his military career he played and coached baseball, basketball, and fast pitch softball at several levels including post level and All-Army teams.

Upon retiring, Jim spent four years as assistant coach at Comstock High School before being invited by coach Bortell to join the Kellogg baseball staff in 1998. He is a graduate of the U.S. Sergeants Major's Academy and also attended Central Texas College.
