Kellogg Community College’s recreational facilities are available during select hours Monday through Saturday on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. General activity hours for the use of the various facilities is posted on the schedule boards outside each area.
The Miller Physical Education Building
Open Recreation Schedule
All registered students with a current KCC identification card are encouraged to make use of Miller Building facilities for open recreation.
The open recreation schedule is subject to change whenever it conflicts with scheduled classes, athletic events or special event usage. Questions about open recreation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays should be directed to the building/equipment manager at ext. 2548. Questions from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays can be directed to the evening building manager at ext. 2408. A schedule board is located inside the main entrance of the Main Gym, and weekly schedules are also posted outside each facility area.
Wellness Center (Room 101)
The Wellness Center in the Miller Building includes areas for weight training and fitness.
Racquetball Courts (Room 104)
Racquetball courts may be reserved for racquetball or handball by presenting a valid KCC identification card in person at the Issue Room window. No phone reservations will be taken. Individuals may schedule time on the courts twice per week, but may not sign up for two consecutive time blocks or switch courts.
Auxiliary Gym (Room 107)
The Auxiliary Gym is available when not in use for classes or team practices for aerobic dance, karate or other activities. A weekly schedule is on the board outside the Auxiliary Gym door.
The Main Gym is open and available for recreational use when not in use for classes, games or team practices.
Recreational facilities at KCC include the following:
- Two basketball courts
- One racquetball/handball court
- One Wellness Center, including weights, stationary bikes, a StairMaster, treadmills and other exercise equipment
- Two volleyball courts
- Nine tennis courts
- One aerobic training area (the Auxiliary Gym)
- A one-mile walking/running trail around Spring Lake
Equipment needed for recreational activities may be checked out from the Issue Room on the first floor of the Miller Building. Students and employees must leave their valid KCC identification card to check out equipment. If equipment is lost, damaged or destroyed, the individual will be expected to replace the item(s).
