Training Grants

Assisting companies with identifying grant funding sources to augment training costs is a priority of Workforce Solutions. Our goal is to assist you in building your capacity and bench strength by providing performance-based learning solutions. Below are training grant funding sources available to eligible Michigan employers. Contact Workforce Solutions to learn more about the funding opportunities and to assist you in developing a training plan to meet your organization’s performance goals.

Michigan New Jobs Training Program (MNJTP)

The MNJTP authorizes community colleges to contract with employers that are creating new jobs and/or expanding operations in Michigan.  With this program, the cost associated with training workers for qualified new positions is funded by diverting the new employees’ state income taxes.  In effect, the training is paid with the funds that would have otherwise been paid to the state.

Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF)

The STTF will provide competitive awards for the development and implementation of employer-responsive training that will enhance skills, incomes, productivity and employment retention, while increasing the quality and competitiveness of Michigan’s businesses.
