The Student Leadership Institute (SLI) was created under the notion that all students possess leadership qualities given the opportunity to develop them. SLI focuses on providing those critical components in order to develop and enhance leadership talent within KCC students.

Leadership opportunities will be offered through a variety of means such as workshops, service learning and an annual, one-day Leadership Summit conference held on the KCC main campus.

Through SLI, we hope students gain knowledge in the following areas:

• Identify and develop personalized leadership styles.
• Learn successful leadership techniques.
• Understand ethical/moral responsibilities of leaders.
• Learn to lead in diverse and multicultural settings.
• Utilize leadership talents both in and out of the classroom.
• Enhance effective communication skills.

Members of the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa will receive priority invitation to selected SLI sponsored events.
