Community Music

KCC choir singers sing at a concert in ColdwaterKellogg Community College offers several musical opportunities for community members interested in the arts to participate.  The College is home to several residential community choirs and bands that are open to the public for membership, and most KCC music productions are open to the public with free admission.

The Plot: Amahl, a shepherd, tries to tell his mother about what he has seen outside in the night sky; an enormous star with a long tale. His mother, accustomed to his habitual lying, grows angry; she is even more angry when Amahl tells her there are three kings at the door awaiting entry.  This is a wonderful Christmas opera written by the composer, Gian Carlo Menotti. A great way to kick off the Holiday Season!

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, downtown Coldwater
The choirs of Kellogg Community College hosted by the Branch County Community Chorus will present the widely popular sing-along performances of G. F. Handel’s magnificent oratorio MESSIAH, where the audience is the chorus! A free event for the whole community!
