Memoir Writing
Writing and storytelling are keys to recording your incredibly rich and valuable life experiences for yourself and your family. In this class, you will recall your life story, and then create a story of your life using creativity. Discover new insights about yourself as you capture your memoir in written word. If you’re ready to write stories about your life or your family, but find yourself possibly going around in circles, this class is for you.

Vera-Ellen: The Magic and the Mystery
Join Terry Dennison for an in-depth study of the life and career of the most versatile female dancer during the glorious “Golden Age of the Hollywood Musical”. Vera-Ellen has been Terry’s all-time favorite movie star since childhood; in fact, Terry is often called her number one fan! He was even asked to assist David Soren with the one and only Vera-Ellen biography, “The Magic and the Mystery”. Copies of the book will be used extensively in class. Vera-Ellen could do it all: tap, ballet, ballroom, acrobatic and lyrical. In this class, you will enjoy watching clips from her films, including White Christmas – her most famous film – and enjoy her dancing with Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Danny Kaye. Items from Vera-Ellen’s estate will be shown, as well as movie costumes and many other pieces of memorabilia. Come feel Terry’s excitement as he shares his mission of helping people remember Vera-Ellen; she was too good to be forgotten!

Awaken Your Inner Author: Using Creative Prompts    NEW!
In this fun class you’ll discover ways to move from a blank page to the story you want to tell. You’ll learn how to activate your inner critic to motivate you instead of paralyzing you. Explore ways to design your physical space for creative thinking and writing success. We’ll use writing prompts to ignite your creativity and share ways to use Google Docs to publish your writing prompt responses. Join us and have fun with new ways to awaken
the muse within you!

Motown Mania: The Music that Changed the Country
Join us on a trip down memory lane as you learn about some of the chart-topping artists, musicians, and groups produced by Motown, such as Martha and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye. All became part of the Motown Sound, love songs that told simple stories, and live in our hearts forever.
