Reading and Writing Test
You Must Register On-line through the MCOLES Web Site at www.michigan.gov/mcoles

IMPORTANT: Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to sign in and log into the online test. You must bring a valid government-issued photo identification, such as your driver's license, state ID card, military ID, or passport. You will be given two hours to take the test.

On the left side of the home page, click on the "Standards and Training" link.
Under the "Testing" section, click on the "Reading and Writing Test" link.
Click on the "PBS Web Site" link in the middle of the next page.
On the PBS site, click on the "View test schedule and register with a credit card" link (or you can register with a money order).
IMPORTANT: Write down or print off your ID and Password at the time of your registration. You will need it to log into the test site the day of your test.

Steps to Register:
Pre-register with the KCC Criminal Justice Office by completing the MCOLES Physical Fitness Test Application. Click on the following link to print the application form: MCOLES Fitness Test Application
NOTE: You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
Payment Options:
Fax your completed application with credit card authorization to 269-565-2060
or
Mail your completed application with credit card authorization, check, or money order to Kellogg Community College, ATTN: Criminal Justice, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49017
or
Bring your completed application to the KCC Criminal Justice Office located in the Ohm Information Technology Building, Room 202, with credit card authorization, check, money order, or cash (exact change only).
Items to Bring on Test Day:
Valid government-issued photo identification, such as your driver's license, state ID card, military ID, or passport.
Completed MCOLES Physician's Health Screening Form. Click on the following link to access the form: Health Screening Form
The form must be the original and must be signed by a licensed physician (no copies, no physician's assistants, no stamped names).
The form is only valid 180 days from the date of your physical exam.
Appropriate clothing and athletic shoes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your MCOLES Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness test scores are only good for 180 days; therefore, you should not take your Physical Fitness test any sooner than 180 days before the start date of any police academy. KCC's 2008-09 Academy will begin on September 3, 2008; therefore, your physical fitness test will be invalid if taken before March 7, 2008.
