How do I become a Police Officer?
At Kellogg Community College you must follow the Law Enforcement curriculum.

Qualifications for entry to Police Academy
To enter a preservice police academy, you must meet the state standards to be a police officer. A complete list is available in the Criminal Justice office but, to give you an idea, the main qualifications are:
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • No felony convictions
  • Good moral character
  • Good health
  • Normal hearing
  • Eyesight corrected to 20/20
  • Normal visual function and color vision
  • Passing score on the MCOLES reading & writing test
  • Passing score on the MCOLES Physical Fitness Test
