- A RESIDENT of the College district is defined as a citizen of the United States whose legal residence has been established within a Michigan city/township AND corresponding school district indicated below.
- A NON-RESIDENT is defined as a citizen of the United States whose legal residence has been established within the state of Michigan, but not within the College district.
- An OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENT is defined as a citizen of the United States whose legal residence has been established outside the state of Michigan, except that residents of the state of Indiana shall be eligible for a tuition rate of $1.00 per credit hour above the rate established for NON-RESIDENTS.
- An INTERNATIONAL RESIDENT is an alien, defined as a non-citizen of the United States. Aliens who hold a valid alien Registration Receipt Card or an "E" or "L" visa are eligible for classification according to the definitions of residency stated above. Aliens are required to present their visa at the time of registration.
- Mailing of registration confirmations, grades, tuition refunds, and checks for financial aid balances are labeled "Postmaster Do Not Forward" or "Return Service Requested." Undelivered mail is returned to KCC. When discrepancies are found, a hold is placed on your record and residency must be proven by you, in person, before any further registration or financial transactions are allowed.
