NEW PELL GRANT ELIGIBILITY:
Year Round Pell Policy
Summer 2011For the summer of 2011, Kellogg Community College will consider the summer term to be a "cross-over payment period" and will pay Pell grant awards out of the 2010-2011 or 2011-2012 Pell payment schedule, whichever award will provide the student with the most Pell grant eligibility. Students must have a valid Student Aid Report on file for the year used to determine Pell grant eligibility. If students receive their first scheduled award (and they enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours they can be eligible for a second scheduled award), providing they are otherwise eligible. This means that the student will need to have a total of 25 completed credits at the end of the summer 2011 semester. Any grade of "I, W, or N" are not considered successful completion.
Additional Information
For the summer terms in subsequent years, after 2011, the rules applied in 11/SU will be applied using the correct aid years as determined by federal regulations.
The Pell Grant Calculator provided on our website may not be accurate for those who are eligible for Year Round Pell.
Cross–over payment period is defined a semester that crosses from June 30th over into July, at Kellogg Community College this is the summer semester.
