Kellogg Company Careers Scholarship Information
Up to five scholarships will be awarded to KCC students who are working towards an Associate Degree in a business-related field. The scholarships demonstrate the Kellogg Company's commitment to recognizing and encouraging talented students while also preparing them for corporate work and leadership in the Battle Creek community.

Kellogg Company Careers Scholarships are fully funded scholarships totaling $6000 for tuition, fees and books. Recipients are awarded up to $3000 each year for two years while attending Kellogg Community College.

All scholarship applications are given equal consideration by a scholarship committee comprised of Kellogg Company and Kellogg Community College professionals. The selection committee will review the applicant's academic records, school, community, and service activities. At the completion of the review process, the committee will select finalists to appear for a personal interview before a final determination is made on scholarship awards. Ethnically diverse students are encouraged to apply.

Criteria and Guidelines

  • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or eligible non-citizen.
  • Seeking an Associate Degree in a business-related field.
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience, community and service activity, and school involvement.
  • Fewer than 24 college credit hours completed by the beginning of the fall semester 2012.
  • Scholarship funds will be credited to the student's KCC account. Scholarship awards can be used for KCC tuition, fees, and/or books. Unused funds will not be refunded.
  • Enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours (full-time) per semester.
  • Scholarship funds cannot be used at a different college or university.
Recipient Responsibilities
  1. Register for HUMA 200 (Honors Seminar) in your first fall semester as a KCC student. Registration and participation is a requirement.
  2. Attend the annual KCC Foundation Scholarship Dinner in the fall.
  3. Write a thank you note to the Kellogg Company.
  4. Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  5. Schedule an appointment with the Vice President of Student Services each fall and spring semester.
  6. Remain a full-time student fall and spring semesters.
  7. Successfully attend classes.
  8. Follow the KCC Student Code of Conduct.
Applicants Must
  1. Submit a completed Kellogg Company Careers application by January 27, 2012. Answer each question to the best of your ability.
  2. Submit an essay at least a 150 words but no more than two pages to include:
    • What college(s) you plan to attend after KCC.
    • Why you have chosen your field of study; what led you to this decision?
    • Future career goals; the profession or occupation you intend to enter.
    • Describe your leadership experience and what you learned from it.
  3. Attach a copy of your official high school and college transcripts (if applicable). If you have taken classes at KCC print a course history from KRIS.
  4. Attach a résumé of employment history, school, community, and service activities.
  5. Enclose three signed letters of recommendation from teachers/instructors, counselors/academic advisors, employers, and/or community members.
  6. If any of the above items are not received by the deadline, the application will not be considered.
