Test Deployment (Content Item) - Special Treatment Required

Old course location: Course Documents button, Assignments button, or elsewhere

New shell location: Content button

Special Treatment Note: When Tests are deployed, they generate a corresponding

linked column in the Grade Center. If a Test is to be moved from one course to another,

the link will not work unless the Grade Center is copied simultaneously with the Tests.

Also, if the Tests were located in the course in an area other than Content (such as

inside the Assignments button), it will not copy to the Content area in the new shell

course. With these complications, it is more reliable to recreate Test Deployments in

the new shell course rather than to copy them.


Note: It is possible to copy Test banks, Survey banks, and Pools from one course to

another. It is recommended that these resources be copied to the new shell to make

them available for deployment there.


How to Create a New Test Deployment

Step 1 - Turn Edit Mode On

Step 2 - Click the Content button and navigate to the location where the Test will be deployed.

Step 3 - In the Content area, select Create Test from the Create Assessment menu.

Step 4 - In the Create Test form, select a test to be deployed from the list. Note: the list of available tests will not appear unless you have first copied over the banks of tests from the previous course.

Step 5 - Click Submit.


Step 6 - After the test deployment has been submitted, a form will appear requiring settings to control how the test is presented. Complete this form as with any test deployment and click Submit.

Step 7 - The Test Deployment will appear in the Content area.

Step 8 - A corresponding Grade Column will be created in the Grade Center.

Step 9 - Check the course to verify the Test Deployment was properly created.
