Basic PC System Cleanup
~ Vista Disk Cleanup ~
I recommend that you start with the Disk Cleanup feature on your computer. It is located in the Accessories folder in both Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems.
Windows Vista
Step 1 - To open Disk Cleanup, click on the 'Start' button located on the task bar, hover over 'All Programs', left click the 'Accessories', left click the 'System Tools' folder, scroll down and left click 'Disk Cleanup'. This will open up the Disk Cleanup for (C:) dialog box.

Step 2 - In the 'Files to delete' area you have several files with a box in front of the filename. Some may have check marks and some may not. I recommend you put a check mark in the box in front of all the files. If you have a file name 'Setup Office files' I would leave this one unchecked. After placing a check mark in the files you want to delete, click 'OK'.

Step 3 - This will bring up a Disk Cleanup (C:) dialog box asking "Are you sure you want to permanently delete these files?", click 'Delete Files'. This will delete all the unnecessary files.
