Compatible & Incompatible wireless cards
Several wireless cards have been found to be incompatible with the Aegis client. We have not had the opportunity to thoroughly test these cards, however, other colleges and universities have found these cards to be problematic with the Aegis client.
We suggest you avoid the following cards:
Proxim 802.11 a/b/g Combo Card (a)
NetGear 802.11 a/b Combo Card (a)
Linksys 802.11 a/g Combo Card (a) **
Linksys 802.11 b WPC11 ver 4. (b) **
Dell 802.11 b TrueMobile 1300 (b) **
Realtek 8180-based cards (b) **
Atheros AR500XX
Orinoco MiniPCI cards
** Problems experienced with these cards include the following:
(a) repeated windows blue-screens and reboots.
(b) cannot authenticate
