Get your knit together! It’s not just for grannies anymore! Let Kassie Dunham, a seasoned “knitologist”, show you the basics of the fine art of knitting. In this introductory class you will learn how to choose needles and yarn; two methods of casting on stitches; the knit, purl, garter, ribbing, stockinet and reverse stockinet stitches; plus how to read patterns. Each week you’ll complete a small project as you learn and apply these techniques. Whether it’s been years since you wielded a needle or if you’ve never knitted a stitch, you’ll want to start right now in this fun and engaging class.
Note: please bring a pair of size 8 straight knitting needles and a light-colored skein of quality worsted weight yarn to class.

Don’t know how to hold a crochet hook? Don’t worry; this class is the perfect place to get started. You will learn the basics of chain stitch, single, half-double, double and even triple crochet techniques. You will complete two small projects as you learn how to start the chain, fasten off, turn chains, join colors, and work in both rows and rounds. Please bring a size H crochet hook and a skein of good quality worsted weight cotton yarn in a light color.

Gifts from the heart are often gifts made with your own two hands, and in this new workshop you’ll learn a variety of ways to use herbs and essential oils to make gifts for those special people in your life. We’ll start out by discussing (and sharing) some tasty foods that can be packaged as gifts. This will be followed by ideas for using essential oils to make bath sachets, body oils, bath salts and more. We’ll even have ideas for gifts for your pets. You’ll make two items to take home, along with recipes for many more. Oh, and gifts from the heart can be easy on the pocketbook, too!

Are you ready to take on a fun and interesting knitting project? Then this Saturday class is just what you need, plus, you can make a special gift for the holiday season! The spiral blanket can be made in baby, child or adult size–the more yarn you use, the bigger your blanket. In this new workshop you’ll learn to work with double-pointed and circular needles and knit in the round. Please bring a set of double-pointed needles and a 24” circular needle appropriately sized for the type of yarn you’re using (the staff at the craft store can help you with this). Also, about 850 yards of worsted weight yarn will make a blanket approximately 36” in diameter, so bring enough yarn for your blanket in either bulky, worsted or DK weight.
