Chinese Astrology: Four Pillars of Destiny - NEW

WOSH 82A-45

The Chinese believe you inhale your destiny with your first breath. The "4 Pillars" are the energetic patterns of the year, month, day, and hour of that breath. Combined, they create a "map" of your life and express characteristics that are inherent to your nature. Essentially, they help define who you are! While everyone has free will and can change their behavior or make any choices they desire, the Chinese believe that what is inherent is pre-defined. In this class, you will learn how these patterns manifest in personality traits that make you uniquely you!

Meditation, Sound & Silence: Vernal Equinox Experience - NEW

HPER 89A-49

OK, so perhaps you think that meditation means sitting cross-legged staring into a corner, but that’s not what we mean here. Meditation is a tool for the re-discovery of your body’s own inner intelligence. In this new class you’ll experience two evenings of greeting spring through the ancient cultural experiences of silence, sound and movement. Meditation in its many forms has been practiced for thousands of years, and it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet, it’s finding the silence that’s already there and making it a part of your life. According to Deepak Chopra, silence is the birthplace of happiness, creativity and intuition; it gives us a sense of connection to the Universe. There are also physical benefits to meditation that include decreased stress and anxiety, inner peace, lower blood pressure and enhanced sleep patterns. Please join Becky Porter whose combined experiences as a nurse, teacher, and massage practitioner means you’ll experience a variety of approaches to meditation and in that mix we are sure you will find the way that suits you best. Becky’s ready to help you “spring forward” with simple yoga postures designed to energize and uplift your spirits into the lighter days of spring. Previous experience with meditation or yoga is not necessary, please wear comfortable clothing and get ready to recharge and renew. Join us at the Holistic Health Center as you discover ways to turn the winter blahs into the spring “ah-has!” Class size is limited, so please register early.
