Home & Garden - Lifelong Learning
| Terrariums are Hot, Hot, Hot! | HOME C13G-01 |
Indoor plants bring living warmth to any
decor, and in this workshop you'll learn the
basics of creating a self-supporting, miniature
landscape inside a glass container. For
any gardener who has spent the dull winter
months longing for the scent of warm earth,
this tabletop garden will bring summer's
bounty. And, if your green thumb is not
really green, you'll enjoy the fact that a terrarium,
once it's created, can exist on its own
without care. You can enjoy the dazzling
results year-round, and it's easier to care for
than a pet rock! Please bring a clear glass
container with a lid that holds approximately
2 quarts to 1 gallon (like a large wide mouth
Mason jar). No lid? You'll be shown several
ways to cover it and we'll provide all the other
materials.

| DIY: Make-It-And-Take-It Household Cleaning Products — NEW | HOME C10G-01 |
Whether you are interested in saving money,
going green, or becoming more self-sufficient
this class will help get you there. So
many household cleaners have harsh, possibly
even harmful chemicals in them, and the
"green" cleaners at the store are often much
more expensive. It seems that we are stuck
between exposing ourselves and our families
to caustic chemicals or going broke just to
stay clean. Not so, we can make our own
non-toxic cleaning and body care products
with simple ingredients that can be found
at most large grocery stores. In this new
class you'll make laundry soap, all-purpose
cleaner, liquid hand soap, plus you'll leave
with even more recipes for "greener cleaners"
you can use at home. You can save
money, help protect yourself, your family
and the planet from harmful chemicals, and
be proud of your own resourcefulness and
creativity, all by "doing it yourself."
