Conversational Spanish for Travelers - NEW

Are you planning a trip or cruise to destinations in Mexico or Spain? In this new class you will expand your language skills and grasp the basics of Spanish through conversation and listening. We’ll show you ways to integrate Spanish into your daily routine so that what you learn stays with you until your trip. We’ll cover the basics of the Spanish language, common phrases and aspects of the Spanish and Hispanic cultures will also be discussed. You will have plenty of time to practice your new language skills with your classmates. Your instructor is Alicia McCollough, a native speaker of Spanish. Your class fee includes your textbook and a handy travel guide.

Baby Signs — Talk to Your Baby Before Your Baby Can Talk! - NEW

SIGN 10-36

Babies have a lot to say, even before they can actually speak. Baby Signs are simple gestures that allow babies and toddlers to communicate what they see, what they need, and even how they feel. Research has shown that using Baby Signs decreases frustration and tantrums and helps your baby talk sooner! Join Kathleen Robertson, who taught her own child Baby Signs at 3 months old, as you learn how you can teach your baby and your family a new way to communicate for increased understanding and improved relationships. Your class fee includes a textbook that will help you take home what you learn in class.

American Sign Language I

Do you know any Deaf people?  Have you seen people sign?  Would you like to learn to communicate with them using American Sign Language (ASL)? ASL is quickly becoming one of the most widely used languages in the United States. Come join us to communicate with your hands, face and body! This 6 week class will introduce you to the basics of ASL, emergency sign language, and the world of Deaf Culture. Your instructor, Kathleen Robertson, CI/CT, is a Nationally Certified Sign Language Interpreter.
Note:  This class is designed for those 16 years of age or older. A textbook is included in your fee and will be provided the first night of class.

American Sign Language II

SIGN 20-35

You should have successfully completed ASL I or have regularly used your basic sign language skills to register for this class. You will continue to develop your expressive, receptive, and conversation skills by learning new vocabulary and grammar. You'll deepen your understanding of the deaf culture, deaf language history and community services available for the deaf. Kathleen Robertson is your instructor (see bio above).
