Meditation, Sound & Silence: Vernal Equinox Experience - NEW

WOSH 82A=49

OK, so perhaps you think that meditation means sitting cross-legged staring into a corner, but that’s not what we mean here. Meditation is a tool for the re-discovery of your body’s own inner intelligence. In this new class you’ll experience two evenings of greeting spring through the ancient cultural experiences of silence, sound and movement. Meditation in its many forms has been practiced for thousands of years, and it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet, it’s finding the silence that’s already there and making it a part of your life. According to Deepak Chopra, silence is the birthplace of happiness, creativity and intuition; it gives us a sense of connection to the Universe. There are also physical benefits to meditation that include decreased stress and anxiety, inner peace, lower blood pressure and enhanced sleep patterns. Please join Becky Porter whose combined experiences as a nurse, teacher, and massage practitioner means you’ll experience a variety of approaches to meditation and in that mix we are sure you will find the way that suits you best. Becky’s ready to help you “spring forward” with simple yoga postures designed to energize and uplift your spirits into the lighter days of spring.
