"We all hope and expect our children will learn to read, but how many of us realize we can get our kids on the road to reading simply by reading aloud to them every day?"

Literacy experiences expand and enhance the reading aloud with your child. The experiences were developed to provide parents and caregivers with fun activities that will help promote literacy learning for young children in our community.

The KCC Early Childhood Education Program students and staff developed the literacy learning experiences for young children using the Calhoun Intermediate School District (CISD) 2006-2007 Public Service Campaign, "Your young child, Your family, Our community, Building learners together".
