Associate Degree in Nursing
Registered nurses are licensed health professionals involved in the planning and implementation of care, treatment, counsel, and health teaching of individuals who are experiencing changes in the normal health processes or who require assistance in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury, or disability.

The Associate Degree nursing (ADN-RN) curriculum leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program is available to students as a full-time or part-time option.

Instruction includes classes and laboratories held on the campus. The clinical experiences are an integral part of the nursing curriculum and are located in local and area hospitals, long-term care facilities, community health agencies, and primary care agencies. Professional courses encourage application of the nursing process essential for clinical decision making. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), and they are qualified for employment in a variety of health care agencies. Graduates may elect to enter baccalaureate programs that are designed for registered nurses and that will increase career opportunities.

Admission prerequisistes are outlined in the KCC College Catalog or on the KCC website.

Additional requirements include an ACT score of 19 or higher and a 2.0 GPA. Basic Cardiac Life Support for Health Care Providers must be completed.

Program costs in addition to tuition, fees, and books include the purchase of uniforms, equipment, required health examinations and a criminal background check.
