Gerald J. Blanchard, Vocal Director and lyric baritone is a native of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Mr. Blanchard has concretized throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. He is featured on several commercial recordings including his solo compact disc "With A Song In My Heart" on Blue Griffin Records and Mozart’s Requiem Mass with the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra on Orchestra Hall Records.
At present, Mr. Blanchard is the director of vocal/choral music at Kellogg Community College, Battle Creek. He recently served on the voice faculties of University of Michigan (Flint), Adrian College, Lansing Community College, Michigan State University Community Music School and was the Director of youth choral activities and voice faculty at the Darlington Fine Arts Center. Mr. Blanchard received the Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from West Chester University's School of Music in Pennsylvania and the Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Central Michigan University's School of Music in Mt. Pleasant.
At present, he is a Doctoral Candidate in voice at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Blanchard is the Repertoire and Standards Chair on the Michigan Board of the American Choral Directors Association, a Gil Rau choral scholar and the recipient of the prestigious King/Chavez/Parks Fellowship from the State of Michigan.
