WELCOME TO THE VOCAL ARTS AT KELLOGG COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Kellogg Community College offers a wide variety of performance opportunities in a number of different ensembles. The groups are large enough to provide the resources for excellent performing opportunities, yet small enough so that everyone receives the individual attention necessary for maximum growth. The Kellogg Singers, Branch County Community Chorus, Concentus Vocal Ensemble, and the Kellogg Community College Opera Workshop Ensemble are all part of the college’s curriculum. Other performance opportunities include the KCC Choral Union as well as studio classes and recitals that allow performances each week throughout the semester.
The choirs of Kellogg Community College have performed throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. The Kellogg Singers opened at Miller Auditorium for the Grammy Award winning groups Take 6 and Sweet Honey In the Rock, collaborating with the Kalamazoo Festival of Sacred Music. The choirs have performed with many groups including the Battle Creek and Monroe Symphonies, Monroe Community Choral, the Chancel Choirs of First Presbyterian Church, Lansing, the Holt Presbyterian Chancel Choir and a special musical collaboration with the Hayden Festival Chamber Orchestra. The performance season will culminate this summer with the KCC Choral Union embarking on its second east coast concert tour with performances slated in Pennsylvania, New York and Boston. For complete performance information visit the KCC Performing Arts information website at http://www.kellogg.edu/performart/. Choral Director at Kellogg Community College is Gerald Blanchard.
