How Companies benefit

The RMTC’s unique style of training was designed specifically for the demanding and dynamic manufacturing environment.   The Industrial Trades programs provide a variety training options to meet production and skilled trades training needs.  The format enables companies to quickly and efficiently manage the training process.  The process includes designing a training program, setting up a training account, enrolling employees in training, and monitoring employee training progress.

The topical, competency based modules enable manufacturers to quickly and efficiently design custom training programs to meet their unique training needs with no design costs.   RMTC faculty are available to consult with companies and to provide  guidance on selecting modules to meet learning outcomes.

Companies may also use the Program Builder to design an RMTC training program.  The Program Builder is an online tool which enables companies to design their own RMTC training program.  Simply click on the Program Builder icon, select programs and modules of interest and the tool will generate a program outline, which includes total program credit hours, contact hours, and costs (with tuition, books, and fees included).   The program outlines may be emailed to the RMTC for review.   The RMTC will contact the company to  provide additional information on setting up a training account and enrolling employees.

In order to setup a training account, a company simply needs to complete an Sponsored Billing Information Request form.    It is a simple, one page document which  captures contact and billing information.  Companies are billed monthly for the modules their employees complete.

Enrolling employees in a sponsored training program is just as simple.  Our open entry open exit format enables companies to start students immediately without waiting for the next semester to start.  It also enables companies to plan training around production schedules.   In addition, we do not charge companies for training until students successfully complete training.  If production schedules and overtime cause a break in training, companies don’t have to pay for incomplete courses.  Instead, students simply resume training when possible.  To enroll an employee in a training program, complete the Sponsored Program Billing Authorization form.

The RMTC understands that companies are making a sizable investment In training.  In order to help companies manage their investment, the RMTC emails progress reports at the end of each semester.  In order to  receive an emailed progress report, the employee must complete a Release of Confidential Information form and the company contact must complete an Student Progress Report Email Agreement form.  Companies may also require employees to provide more regular progress reports.  Employees may obtain these reports online via KRIS any time.  Click here for instructions on obtaining student progress reports via KRIS.

For more information on establishing a training program at the RMTC or to schedule a faculty consultation, simply contact the RMTC Director at 269-965-4137 ext. 2800 or via email at depompolol@kellogg.edu.
