The Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program is an excellent career choice for people who enjoy repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, are good at making decisions and solving problems, have excellent communication skills, and are comfortable working independently.
Students enrolled in the HVAC-R program at the RMTC will learn the fundamentals of commercial and industrial refrigeration with an emphasis on compression systems, electrical control systems, EPA standards, air movement, and heating concepts.

Refrigeration Mechanic
Homes, factories, offices, hospitals, and schools are all dependent upon heating, refrigeration, and ventilation systems of all types. As a result people in this trade enjoy job security and excellent incomes. Program graduates generally earn incomes between $30,000 and $40,000 per year depending upon education and experience.
