The Welding program is an excellent career choice for people who enjoy hands-on activities, have excellent hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination, are creative and take pleasure in fabricating things.
Students enrolled in the Welding program at the RMTC will learn about gasses used in welding, cutting processes, brazing and soldering, joints, shielded metal arc welding, advanced arc welding, welding metallurgy, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, pipe welding, and welding fabrication.

Production Welders
Welding Machine Setters and Setup Operators
Welding Machine Operators and Tenders
Welder-Fitters
Over 90% of the metal-based consumer products we use today involve welding, which means there are plenty of welding jobs available. Program graduates can expect an income of approximately $30,000 per year. Higher incomes are earned by tool and die repair people and high-rise construction welders.
