Industrial Welding

At the RMTC, students learn to work as a team just as they will have to do on the job.

Just a few of many trades people who use "welding" skills in the performance of their jobs include:

  • Industrial Welder
  • Construction Welder
  • Maintenance Mechanic
  • Tool & Die Repair Person

Over 90% of the metal-based consumer products we use today involve welding.  Industrial products can make even heavier use of a welder's skills.  The fact that welding is both a skill and an art form that requires expert training means that welders can get a great deal of satisfaction out of practicing their trade.  And good welders can make good money with opportunity for excellent job security.

The practice of welding and the learning of welding mostly involve "hands-on" activities, and particularly appeals to those individuals who enjoy working and creating with their hands.  The pay for people using welding skills is as wide ranging as the nature of their work, but it will generally vary from $22,000 - $45,000* per year, the highest income often being earned by tool and die repair people and high-rise construction welders.
