(DESCRIPTIONS AND PREREQUISITES)
SCIE 100 Environmental Science 4 CR
An interdisciplinary approach analyzing man's environment on earth from the vantage point of the biological and physical sciences. The course will focus upon such topics as life cycles, energy, pollution, population, and resource deterioration and depletion. Additionally, philosophical and ethical attitudes of man's relationship to his cultural and natural environment will be examined. Within this framework man will be studied as a "Citizen of Earth."
SCIE 102 Physical Science 4 CR
A lecture and laboratory course that integrates the sciences of astronomy, physics, chemistry, and modern contemporary science. Emphasis is placed on applications and principles contributed by all the physical sciences. [48-32-80]
SCIE 103 Field Investigation in Environmental Studies 4 CR
This course will provide the student with a multi-integrated education in environmental studies. The students will be investigating life systems in the environment, testing the life support systems, and analyzing the environment to see what impact man's progress has had and will have on it. GEOG 100 Physical Geography 4 CR
A one-semester lecture and laboratory course devoted to the study of man's environment on earth. Areas of consideration include earth-sun relationships, the earth's waters, tectonic and gradational processes, earth materials, the atmosphere, elements and controls of climate, soils, and vegetation. Man, as an active force within and upon this environment, is considered. [48-16-64] Lab Fee
