Employment Services for Employers

The focus of the Student Employment Services office is two fold. The first goal is to prepare students for the transition from an educational environment to a work place environment by providing various work place experiences, assistance with job search planning and guidance on professional communications skills for interacting with employers. The ultimate goal is to match Kellogg Community College students with excellent work opportunities and to help ensure employment upon graduation. There are many ways area businesses may benefit from the services provided through the Student Employment Services office.

>>Federal Work Study Program
Each year, Kellogg Community College receives a Federal Work Study grant. Students who are eligible for Federal Work Study funding can apply with any public or nonprofit agency within Barry, Branch and Calhoun counties. Students are paid by KCC using Federal Work Study funding to work for these agencies.

The students are considered employees of KCC. Agency responsibilities for hiring a work study student are minimal when compared to the benefits. To learn more about the Federal Work Study program call Patrick Casey at 269-965-3931 ext. 2637.
