The Child Care Grant Award is designed to provide eligible custodial parents with child care assistance while the parent is attending Kellogg Community College. The award provides partial payment of licensed child care services for the recipients.

Applications must be completed and received by Support Services by the deadline date. Applications must have complete information about the child care facility including the child care license number. You must have completed the current year FAFSA form available in the Financial Aid office or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. A recipient must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six credit hours of coursework during the time that a child is in child care.

A student may be eligible for child care assistance for one semester regardless of past academic performance. Students who fail to earn a 2.0 grade point average in subsequent semesters may be ineligible or may receive a reduced child care grant award. Withdrawals "W," Incompletes "I," and Failing grades "F," will affect subsequent eligibility.

This award is limited to $550 each Fall and Spring semesters. The award is limited to $225 for Summer semester.

Proof of income and financial need will be determined by completing the FAFSA form. Proof of custody may be required. Examples of proof include: filed federal income tax form, document from employer, copy of divorce decree, letter from Friend of the Court, Family Independence Agency, or Social Security.

Checks will be made out by Kellogg Community College and sent to the student's address on file. Checks will be made payable to the child care provider and the student jointly.
