(SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program. We provide these free services to program participants:
- Career, academic and personal counseling
- Peer Mentors
- Transfer services
- Academic assistance with professionals
- Peer tutoring
Advising and academic support are provided to you if you are pursuing a transfer degree program and meet federal eligibility criteria. Limited funding for financial assistance may be available to qualified transfer students. Academic assistance is provided by fulltime and part-time faculty for students who demonstrate an academic need.
Qualifications for Services
- You must have an academic need. One of the following will meet this requirement:
- low ASSET scores
- developmental classes
- low GPA
- hold a GED
- Upward Bound Student
- a history of Ws and Fs
AND
- Meet one or more of the following:
- First Generation: Your parents are not four-year college graduates.
- Low income: As defined by Federal guidelines.
- Disability: You may possess a learning disability or be physically challenged. Documentation of disability must be provided. Make an appointment, see an academic advisor, and get the details for disability determination and services.

Steps to Take to Access Services
- Print and complete the INTAKE FORM (PDF Format) and make an appointment to see a advisor. If you do not have the capability to print this form, one is available in the Academic Advising department. Make an appointment or take advantage of the drop-in hours to see an advisor at any of the centers.
- Discuss Support Services with an Academic Advisor. We will let you know in writing or with a phone call when services will be available to you.
