Kellogg Community College is pleased to offer several workforce development/training programs to eligible area residents free of charge for applicants who meet income guidelines.

These training program are generally offered via KCC’s Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training (iACT) initiative or the Michigan Learning and Education Advancement Program (MiLEAP). iACT Training

KCC’s Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training (iACT) initiative is designed to offer short, accelerated training programs to prepare today’s workforce for a variety of employment needs.

iACT programs provide rapid training and services with a simple goal in mind: Help you get a job or pay raise. With iACT, you can quickly become qualified to fill and succeed in a local job. We have career coaches, financial literacy advisors, instructors and employers ready to help.

Current training opportunities include:

  • Forklift training
  • Kellogg Advanced Manufacturing Assembly (KAMA) training
  • Nursing assistant (CNA) training
  • Office procedures training
  • Phlebotomy training
  • Retail management training

MiLeap Training

The Michigan Learning and Education Advancement Program (MiLEAP) is a workforce training program funded by the U.S. Department of Education that often includes blended courses with online, in-person and clinical components, depending on the program.

In addition to hands-on training opportunities, MiLeap participants get a free laptop computer; access to career coaches to help with goal setting, academic advising, barrier removal and job placement; and instruction in financial literacy and basic computer operation skills.

Current training opportunities include:

  • Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Industrial Electricity/Electronics training
  • Industrial Welding training
  • Nursing assistant (CNA) training
  • Phlebotomy training
  • Retail management training

The Michigan Learning and Education Advancement Program (MiLEAP) is a workforce training program made possible by a $17,827,178.11 grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Education Stabilization Fund – Reimagine Workforce Preparation Program (ESF-RWP) provided through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Securities (CARES) Act of 2020.
