The Reserve Officer Academy at Kellogg Community College is designed to provide a reserve officer with the skills and training necessary to assist and supplement a certified police officer. This 136-hour program is a combination of lecture and hands-on training, including defensive tactics, traffic stops, and firearms. In addition, the academy graduate will receive a Pistol Handgun Safety Training Certificate for a CPL permit application.
Candidates must be sponsored by a law enforcement agency or security company and should have successfully completed a background investigation as provided by the agency/company.
