Kellogg Community College’s Nursing Assistant Training Program is approved by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The training prepares students to take the Michigan Nursing Assistant certification exam to become a Certified Nurse Aid (C.N.A.). Students will also receive Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider and Heartsaver First Aid training through the American Heart Association as well as foundational skills demanded by employers.
The Program includes:
- Foundational skills and technical training in healthcare
- Career coaches to assist in goal setting, academic advising, barrier removal and job placement
- Preparation for the State of Michigan Nursing Assistant certification exam
- Exposure to healthcare programs and careers
At the conclusion of the training, KCC staff partners with employers and makes connections between the students and healthcare providers.
