Create account instructions
Step 1. Login/Create Account

Your first step in becoming a student at KCC is to create an account. Your account will allow you to tell us a little bit about yourself, submit your Application for Admission, follow your application status, and request information from KCC.

Under the “Log In” button, click on the “Create Account” link.

Step 2. Tell us about you…

Type in your First & Last Name, Email Address & Confirm and finally a Home Phone Number.

If you do not have a home phone number you can enter your Cell number here.

    • Please use all numbers, for example 2699653931
      Do not use parenthesis and hyphens.

Step 3. Address

Place a check in the box if your address is outside the US or Canada. Type in your Address and City. Using the drop menu, select your State. Type in your 5-digit Zip/Postal Code.

Step 4. Entry Term

Select an Entry Term using the drop down menu, letting us know when you would like to start your educational journey.

Step 5. Account Information

Create a Password & Confirm, Also create a Password Question to regain access if you forget your password.

Applynow Application help

Please enter your information in each of the following sections. Fields with a red asterisk (*) are required and must be completed before you can submit your application. Additional questions may become required based on your answers to a previous question.

Please be as thorough as possible in the application process. This information will be used to help us better serve you!

Application Help
Step 1. Login to Profile

Login using your email address and password that you used when you created your profile. If you have not created your profile please do so. Here is a helpful tutorial

Step 2. Create a New Application

Click on Create a New Application to start a new application.

If you have already started an application and wish to continue where you left off, you will see all of your applications in this area. Click on Edit to pick up where you left off on the application.

Step 3. Application Listing

Click on Start a new KCC Universal Application to begin.

Step 4. Online Application – Let’s begin!

The entry term was brought over from the profile that you previously created.

If this is not the correct semester that you want to start your educational journey in, click on Start a New Opportunity Here. This will allow you to choose from a drop down menu to select a new Entry Term.

Step 5. Plans

Using the required drop down menus, select the one that best applies to your educational goal.

Entry Term – the semester you are looking to start

Student Type – Pick one that best describes you

  • New, Never Attended College – no college classes taken before.
  • New Transfer From Another College – wanting to finish your degree or certificate at KCC.
  • Returning KCC Student – it has been more than 3 consecutive semesters since you have attended and want to work towards a degree or certificate.
  • Guest Student – currently attending another college and want to take KCC classes to transfer back.
  • High School Dual Enrolled – planning to take KCC classes while still enrolled in high school.
  • High School Early College -planning to enroll in KCC classes as part of the Early College program.
  • International Applicant – if you are a resident in another country
  • Personal Interest – only taking a couple classes, not looking for a degree or certificate.

Student Educational Goal

  • Earn an Associate Degree
  • Earn an Associate Degree and Transfer
  • Follow the MTA (Michigan Transfer Agreement)
  • Earn A Certificate Degree

Personal Interest & Guest Student have limited selections. 

Area of Study – Choose the area which you are wanting to get the degree in. Each area will show different certificates and degrees.

Academic Program – Choose the certificate or degree to pursue.

Step 6. Personal

Please enter your information in each of the following sections. Additional questions may become required based on your answers to a previous question.

Name – Verify your full legal name. You do have the option of adding a Prefix, Middle Name, Suffix, Former Last Name, and a Preferred Name.

Address – Verify your address

Phone – Home Phone is required. If you do not have a home phone, please place your cell phone number in the Home Phone box. Use your full 10-digit number and only numbers (no parentheses or hyphens).

Step 7. Demographics

CitizenshipPlease tell us if you are a US Citizen or if you hold a visa. If you do hold a visa, please select your visa type. In order to submit an online application, you will need to provide your Social Security Number. If you do not wish to disclose your Social Security Number, please contact the Admissions office at (269) 965-4153 for application options.

Optional Ethnic Information & Additional Information – In an effort to get to know our student body better, we request information about you! We would like to know your ethnicity, sex and birthdate. The information is optional and will not be used in a discriminatory manner.

Step 8.  Academics

High School

If you were Home Schooled please skip to # 9.

If you have a GED or Equivalent skip to #14.

  1. Select + Add High School
  2. School Name (full or partial)
  3. Country – you can either type or use the drop-down menu
  4. State/Province – you can either type or use the drop-down menu
  5. City (full or partial)
  6. Click on Search
  7. Select from the Search Results – If you cannot find your High School, please check that the name and city are spelled correctly.
  8. Click on Select
  9. Unlisted High School or Home School – Enter you School name and address
  10. Home School Only – place a check in the box
  11. Graduated?
  12. Graduation year
  13. Option to add another high school – If you have attended more than one high school, please indicate that by adding an additional High School.
  14. GED or Equivalent – Please indicate if you Did or Will receive your GED
  15. Enter your GED Date

College Credit

Select ‘Add College’ to list each college/university that you have attended, even if you have not received any credit for coursework. We will need an official transcript sent to us from each institution as soon as possible. Please indicate if you have received a degree from any of your previous colleges/universities.

  1. Select Attended 
  2. Are you currently enrolled in another college or university?
  3. Select +Add College
  4. School Name (full or partial)
  5. Country – you can either type or use the drop-down menu
  6. State/Province – you can either type or use the drop-down menu
  7. City (full or partial)
  8. Click on Search
  9. Select from the Search Results – If you cannot find your College please check that the name and city are spelled correctly.
  10. Click on Select
  11. Using the drop-down menu select Yes or No to Add another college – repeat steps 3-11
  12. Save & Continue

Step 9. Signature

Please read the Certification carefully before you select Yes.
