Friday, Aug. 20
Active Shooter Training
8 a.m. to noon, Davidson Auditorium
This training is designed to prepare faculty/staff for actions to take in an active shooter situation on campus. Active shooter training is highly recommended for anyone that has not completed the training, or for anyone that needs a refresher course.

Monday, Aug. 23
CPR/First Aid Training
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lane-Thomas 201
This course is for anyone who would like to be prepared for an emergency setting. Topics include first aid basics; environmental, medical and injury emergencies; how to perform CPR; and the use of the AED. Boxed lunch will be provided.

WIDS Syllabus Training

A refresher training to create and submit syllabi in WIDS and link to your Moodle course.

Camtasia Training
10:30 a.m. to noon, Professional Development Center (PDC) in the library
Come join us in the PDC for a hands-on workshop to create a “Welcome” video and/or a “Course Tour” using Camtasia to record, compile, edit and publish videos. Videos will be uploaded to Microsoft Stream (or your choice of streaming server) and posted within Moodle (or your choice of course communication). You will leave this workshop with tutorial documents, resource videos and an outline for creating your own “Welcome” and/or “Course Tour” video. You may also leave this workshop with a completed video to use for the fall semester!

Self-Defense Training

Are you using Moodle for your fall semester sections? Are you interested in learning more about visual design, engagement strategies and other cool tools? Are you looking for a community setting to update your course and/or obtain assistance with certain Moodle features? Stop by the PDC any time between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. for drop-in assistance, collaboration, technical support, design advice/assistance and more.

Budgeting 101: What Every Cost Center Manager Should Know
2 to 3 p.m., Kellogg Room
New to budgeting and managing your cost center or just need a refresher? Please come to this presentation to hear about the basics of cost center budgets and the related managing of your budget. You will also see some tools, both online and within Ellucian Colleague, that may be helpful. We will also have time for Q&As at the end of the presentation.

CircleIn Update: Remote Collaborative Study for KCC Students

Come learn more from representatives from the National Science Foundation-funded application provider CircleIn and KCC’s CircleIn Implementation Team about the peer-to-peer study app that enables students to study online together, while requiring no faculty involvement or maintenance. The most successful student influencers earn points, gift cards and CircleIn scholarships for positively engaging and supporting their community of fellow learners. We will demonstrate how the app works, update you on KCC student and faculty experiences over the past year, and look at new product features, as well as take your questions.

It’s common for people to experience episodic waves of anxiety in response to perceptions of stress.
